Welcome New Staff

Padua Academy is excited to welcome Mr. Lucas Kroon to our Math Department for the 2026-2027 school year. He will be teaching Geometry, Honors Physics, and Precalculus, bringing with him a passion for mathematics, problem-solving, and student success.

Mr. Kroon's path to education began at Horseshoe Scout Reservation, where he spent several summers as an instructor before advancing to his current role as the camp's Commissioner. While earning his degree in mathematics and physics from Northeastern University, he discovered his love for teaching through tutoring high school students.

"Now at Padua, my goal is to help students discover just how exciting and rewarding the world of mathematics can be," he shared.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Kroon serves as an assistant scoutmaster and coaches the BrandywineBOTS robotics club, mentoring students as they develop leadership skills, tackle engineering challenges, and build confidence through hands-on learning. 

Whether in the classroom, at camp, or in the workshop, his mission remains the same. "My aim is always to help young people discover what they're capable of and to approach every problem with curiosity, persistence, and confidence."
