On May 3, 2019, The Howard Pyle Studio Group will proudly present the work of Padua Academy art students, under the direction of art teacher, Denise Vitollo.
This exhibit is the culmination of activities designed to highlight the life, work, and legacy of Howard Pyle, illustrator, author, artist, and teacher. Padua students visited the Studios on March 8th, engaging in activities that focused on Pyle's use of composition, imagination, and details making his work so masterful and timeless.
This was followed by a trip to the Delaware Art Museum where students visited the Pyle galleries to see Howard Pyle's original works. In their art class, students then created illustrations inspired by what they learned. As part of community school outreach efforts, this collaboration is a tribute to Howard Pyle, honoring his teaching legacy as well.
Please join us on May 3rd from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM for an evening of art and refreshments.
The Howard Pyle Studio is located at 1305 North Franklin St., Wilmington, DE 19806.
