Padua Indoor Track & Field Team Wins 7th Consecutive DIAA State Championship!

Congratulations to Padua's Indoor Track and Field Team on earning its 7th consecutive State Championship this weekend! 

Jia Anderson had the most point contributions with a win in the 55m Hurdles (8.46), 2nd place finish in the 55m Dash (7.30), and 3rd place in the 200m (26.42), she was also a member of the 2nd place 4x200m Relay. Erin Kelleher was an individual winner in the Pole Vault with a school record jump of 12'2". Chioma Njoku was also successful with a personal best throw of 41'4".  

This championship was won on supporting cast points; the team scored a total of 115 1/2 points.  

Medal winning performances came from Anna Cleary: 2nd place in the 1600m (with a personal best time of 5:14.39); 5th place in the 3200m (11:33.8); and Abby Vanderloo: 2nd in the Pole Vault with a jump of 8'6". The 4x200m Relay team of Alivia Roberts, Olivia Bocchetti, Olive TwumDanso, and Jia Anderson placed 2nd with a time of 1:47.92. The 4x800m Relay team of Elena Bocchetti, Judy McLaughlin, Natalie Spadaccini, and Jackie Holowka placed 2nd (the relay came to a photo finish with a difference of 4 one hundredths of a second).  

Other points were earned by: Alicia LeNoir: 4th in both the 1600m (personal best 5:22.34) and 3200m (11:33.48 another personal best); Judy McLaughlin: 4th in the 400m (1:00.92); Jackie Holowka: 5th in the 800m (2:28.01); Mackenzie Sobczyk: 5th in High Jump (4'10"); Mackenzie Speed: 6th in the 800m (personal best 2:29.67); Ava Ruggieri: 6th in Triple Jump (personal best 34'0"); Olive TwumDanso: 7th in Triple Jump (33'8.5"); and finally, the 4x400m Relay team of Ava Ruggieri, Olivia Bocchetti, Olive TwumDanso, and Judy McLaughlinfinished 4th (4:14.37).
