Taking Drivers Ed to the Next Level
If you spotted a massive truck on campus this week don't worry – it was all part of our Driver Ed program! Scott Tidwell, a researcher with VA Tech, shared vital info on sharing roads with trucks & buses. Our girls learned key safety tips on interacting with these vehicles. Inside the truck, they got a unique perspective on height & visibility. Kudos to Miss Roach, our Drivers Ed instructor, for steering our students towards safer driving!
Our Drivers Education program consists of a 30 hour classroom portion and a 7 hour behind the wheel portion. Students take Drivers Education their sophomore year. Once they complete a final exam at the end of the class as well as their driving hours, students will receive a blue slip.
