Padua Academy

Application Process

Eighth-grade girls interested in applying for 9th-grade admission are required to take the Diocese of Wilmington High School Placement Test (HSPT).  The HSPT will be held at Padua Academy on Saturday, December 2, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. and on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at 12:00 p.m.

Registration for this year’s HSPT will take place online through Scholastic Testing Services at  This site provides additional detailed information regarding registration instructions, testing dates, testing locations, payment, and answers to frequently asked questions. Online registration for the HSPT opens September 21, 2017 and closes December 1, 2017.

The week prior to the test, Padua Academy will email specific directions for the testing day procedures.  At the conclusion of the testing, each applicant will receive an Application Packet to be completed at home with one or both parents.  The Application Packet will contain detailed directions, as well as a submission deadline.

A completed online test registration form permits Padua Academy to request student records and recommendations from the applicant’s present school.  This process is facilitated directly between Padua Academy and the applicant’s present school.  No additional letters of recommendation are required.

The Padua Academy Admission Committee will review each applicant’s report cards, standardized test scores, school recommendations, and HSPT score for admission and scholarship consideration.  If the committee has a concern about an applicant’s report card or test scores, the applicant may be required to interview with one or more of the members of the committee.

Families will be notified of admission decisions for the Class of 2021 on Friday, January 12, 2018.
