Padua to Open 2020-21 Using Blended Learning Model

Dear Padua Families,

Thank you for your unwavering patience during these difficult times. As parents ourselves, the teachers and administrators of Padua fully understand the challenges associated with ensuring your child is still receiving a quality education during these less than ideal times.

This morning the Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Wilmington made a determination on their back-to-school guidelines for elementary and secondary schools. I’ve attached the letter from the Diocese below.

As you already know, Padua began the arduous task of planning for the 2020-2021 school year long before Spring semester had ended. Using feedback we gathered from our Parent, Student, and Faculty Surveys, we developed plans for in-person, hybrid and virtual instruction that can be utilized during the 2020-2021 school year.

Given the Diocesan guidance released today, we are confident in our ability to open school using our well thought out hybrid model. We will provide you with the details of what this means for our students by Friday, August 7.

We are planning student orientation programs for each grade level over staggered days from August 25 through September 3. The first day of classes will be Tuesday, September 8. More information will be provided once dates and programs are finalized.

This is an unprecedented time in education. I and the entire Padua staff remain fully committed to providing the highest quality educational experience possible for our students. We are a community rooted in faith and love, and in all situations will strive to maintain that. Please continue to keep all decision-makers in prayer, not just at Padua, but also our leaders at the national, state, and diocesan levels. We pray that the safety and best interests of our students guide our path forward.

We are truly all still in this together, and together, we will move forward.
