Lauren DiSabatino Named Athletic Director

We are very #PaduaPROUD to announce that Lauren DiSabatino has been named Athletic Director at Padua Academy.

Ms. DiSabatino has been a member of the Padua faculty and administration for the past fifteen years. During her tenure she has served as a Health and PE teacher, Associate Athletic Director and Interim Athletic Director, as well as Volleyball Coach for the Freshmen Team (2005), JV Team (2006-2012) and Padua’s Varsity Volleyball Team (2012-2019) which won multiple DIAA State Titles.

Ms. DiSabatino believes that athletics gives us the ability to learn some of life’s greatest lessons, while also teaching those great lessons to others. When we find something we love doing, we should amplify that greatness.”

As a member of Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) athletics since fourth grade, Ms. DiSabatino’s love for the game would follow her from Ursuline Academy grade school to St. Elizabeth’s High School, where she was a 4-year starter for the St. E’s Varsity Volleyball Team.

While at St. E’s she had the good fortune to meet her mentor, Mr. Tom Bedow, a long-time member of their athletic staff and recent inductee into the National High School Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

“Mr. Bedow asked me what I wanted to do with my future. The answer was simple. I wanted to be an Athletic Director and help athletes have the same love for sports that I did. And so I have been working towards that ever since.”

Ms. DiSabatino’s list of accomplishments include being named a two-time 1st Team Delaware All-state award recipient, and Delaware’s Gatorade Volleyball Player of the Year in 2001. She is excited to bring all she has "learned along the way as a player, and a coach to the forefront of Padua’s Athletic Program.

We are already doing amazing things here at the school and with my continued effort I believe we can all strive to be great.”
