Congratulations Sonia Srinkanth - 2020 National Merit Scholarship Winner

The accolades continue to roll in for members of the Padua Class of 2020. Congratulations to Sonia Skrinkanth '20 who was officially deemed a 2020 National Merit Scholarship winner by the NMSC. The scholarship is valued at $2,500 and was awarded to only 2,500 students out of the competitive pool of 1.6 million students from across the United States. Just being named a finalist earlier this year meant that Sonia represented less than 1% of the applicant pool. Talk about WOW!

The National Merit® Scholarship Program is an academic competition for recognition and scholarships that began in 1955. Sonia was awarded this scholarship due to her pSAT score and an application that included an essay, a listing of her extracurricular activities such as service and athletics, work experience, standardized testing scores and honors.

Sonia graduated from Padua Academy with honors just a few weeks ago, where she was Captain of the Padua Tennis Team, a Padua Academy Ambassador, a Student in Action Service Leader, a Blue-Gold Ambassador, a French Club Leader and a member of the National Honor Society.

All of our love and congratulations Sonia. The University of Delaware is so lucky to have you as an incoming member of their Honors Program this Fall, as well as being a distinguished scholar and a Eugene duPont scholar! Go Blue Hens!
