Padua Coach, Marnie Giunta, Honored with Delaware's Tubby Raymond Coach of the Year Award

Padua Academy Head Coach Marnie Giunta was awarded the Tubby Raymond Coach of the Year Award on Monday, February 18th at the Delaware Sportswriters and Broadcaster's Association's 70th Annual President's Day awards luncheon. Coach Giunta is the head coach of three Padua Division I teams: Cross Country (fall), Indoor Track & Field (winter), and Track & Field (spring).
 
During her 12 years as head coach at Padua Academy, Giunta led her teams to win 21 DIAA State Championships. Coach Giunta has been named DIAA Coach of the Year 11 times since 2012 (Cross Country, 2; Indoor Track & Field, 6; Track & Field, 3). In addition, she coached 3 Gatorade Players of the Year (Lizzy Bader, '19; Lydia Olivere, '18; Maiya Dendy, '15).
 
The Tubby Raymond Coach of the Year Award is presented to a coach in Delaware who has gone above and beyond in coaching accomplishments and successes. Winners are selected from a nomination list that includes all levels of Delaware sports teams and associations. In 2000, the award was created and presented to beloved University of Delaware Football Coach Tubby Raymond. Coaches are considered based on a single season of success or an entire repertoire of work.
