Graduation Ceremony - Thursday, May 28
The State and Diocesan directives have limited us to holding a virtual ceremony this year. As we all know, this decision is unprecedented and extremely disappointing, but has been made because of the COVID-19 crisis and made to ensure the health and safety of students, families, and the school community. We are working on plans to incorporate many of the traditional aspects of the Padua commencement ceremony and we are trying to add some other complimentary elements to make it as memorable and meaningful as we can.
Baccalaureate Mass - Tuesday, May 26
This Mass will be a virtual service and will be celebrated on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at 7:00 PM. We look forward to coming together with all of our seniors and their families to celebrate the Class of 2020. We are making progress on the plans for this liturgy and more information will be shared as details are finalized.
School-wide Closing Liturgy - Thursday, May 21
Closing Liturgy is both the opportunity for us to celebrate the contributions of the Class of 2020 and is a celebration for our whole community. This is our chance to look back and to look forward and will include our traditional Passing of Class Colors and Moving Up Ceremony. We look forward to having your online presence on Thursday, May 21 at 2:00 PM to join in prayer as a community, to sing many of our "Padua favorites," and to be together as a school before we look towards next year. We are still working on the details and will send information on how to join in as we get closer to that date.
Senior Retreat - Wednesday, May 20
You have received information on the plans for the day from Mrs. Alinda and Ms. Keefe. Although physically apart, they are working on this day to bring you together and be united as a class. They have asked you to book from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and to wear painted skirts and/or college gear.
Senior Sports Recognition
Mrs. Brown will be in touch soon on the details of this event. The event is currently scheduled for Thursday evening, May 14.
Cap and Gown Distribution and Pick-up of your locker contents
We are working on a plan for this distribution to occur the week of May 18. Since we must continue to follow social distancing guidelines, you will be asked to sign-up for a specific time slot so that we can limit the number of people at the building during each time.
Our Publication Design class successfully completed and submitted the yearbook. However, the company that publishes the book has not been able to operate as it is considered a non-essential business. As soon as the factory is up and running again, it will start printing its large back-log of books. Our local representative is hoping for a midsummer delivery, but this is dependent on when the restrictions are lifted. Once the books arrive, we will make arrangements for distribution at the school and/or delivery to students within whatever state and local guidelines are in place at that time.
Senior Trip Refund - Hershey Park
Due to the need to cancel the Hershey Park trip, all monies paid will be refunded as paid. Credit card payments will be credited to the card used. Refund checks will be mailed out to those who paid by check or with cash.
Those who had a balance on their Culinart account will be receiving a refund for any money remaining. These refunds are handled directly by Culinart and may take up to 6 weeks to be processed.
Book Buyback and Rentals
Follett has made accommodations in their process to handle the buyback/return of books. If you rented a book from Follett, they are allowing you to keep the book as your own. Should your family wish to donate a rental book to Padua Academy, we would greatly appreciate this generous offer. We are trying to collect classroom sets of textbooks. Please reference your email for the PDF.
