SALSthon 2017 Raises Over $150,000 for St. Patrick’s Center

2017 Salsthon Total

It was an amazing night for students from Salesianum, Padua Academy, and Ursuline as they learned how much they raised to help the benefactor of Salsthon 2017, the St. Patrick’s Center.

Students have been hosting fundraisers, setting challenges, encouraging donations, and then finally the all-night dance held at Sallies on Saturday, March 17th. All of these efforts enabled the students and supporters to raise $150, 248.93, providing the St. Patrick’s Center with the first monies down for its food distribution program to be moved into the new¬†planned facility.

Padua Student Council Executive Board and the Freshmen class were able to raise $18,000 toward this effort through fundraisers and outside donations. One of the challenges was a head-to-head with Salesianum to raise $5,000 within an allotted time and Padua won! The challenge was for the “losers” to wash the winner’s school vans!

We are so proud of these students and their dedication to helping those in our community.

In 2015, Salsthon was able to buy a home in the city of Wilmington, and convert it into a home for homeless veterans.
