Padua Track and Field 2017 team crowned New Castle County champions for the 6th straight year!

The team was lead by junior Lydia Olivere who finished the day as a County Champion in four events. She started the meet with a thrilling come from behind win in the 4x800m relay that broke a 33-year-old school record. Lydia then backed up that relay event with individual wins in the 3200m, 1600m, and finally the 800m where she set a new County meet record as well as broke her own school record in that event set just two weeks ago.

Padua athletes were named county champions in 9 of the total 18 contested events; an outstanding effort by all of the young ladies leaving no doubt why at the end of the meet Padua also won the team championship.

Padua’s county champions were as follows: Lydia Olivere – 800m (2:11.88), 1600m(5:02.21), 3200m (10:42.36), 4x800m relay (9:17.82); Taliah Cintron – 300m Hurdles (43.96) ; Cameron Lucey – 100m Hurdles (14.78); Camryn Harris – Pole Vault (12-0); Arryana Daniels – Triple Jump (36-6.5); Marie Soja – Shot Put (36-8.5).  Maddie Olivere – 4x800m relay(9:17.82); Victoria Steinhoff – 4x800m relay(9:17.82); Lizzy Bader – 4x800m relay(9:17.82)
