Padua Shatters School Record at Penn Relays

Padua’s track & field team had a successful day at the prestigious Penn Relays–one of the biggest track meets in the country. The long day ended with Padua shattering a school recordĀ on route to a bronze medal finish in the High School Girls Championship of America Distance Medley Relay. The team of Maddie Olivere, Taliah Cintron, Lizzie Bader, and Lydia Olivere each ran season-best times, clocking an overall 11:52.51, dropping over 12 seconds off the previous mark of 12:03.00 (and fourth place finish) set in 2015.
Taliah Cintron also ran a season-best time in the 400m hurdles, running 1:02.28 and placing eleventh overall in a strong field. Camryn Harris also competed in the pole vault event, placing eleventh overall in a season-best 10’6″.
Padua’s track and field team also ran in the 4x100m and 4x400m relays, both running season-best times. The 4x100m team of Olivia Reinsel, Darby Deutsch, Cameron Lucey, and Olive Twum-Danso ran a time of 50.80, over two seconds faster than any time run this season. The 4x400m team of Bailey Apostolico, Victoria Steinhoff, and Katie Hally, all running in their first Penn Relay race, along with relay veteran Darby Deutsch, clocked a solid 4:09.19, placing second overall in the Northern Delaware section.
