Padua Alumnae Join Coaching Staff to Lead Basketball and Swimming Teams

Padua has announced the hiring of two new coaches for Padua Athletics. The new coaches are also alumnae. Emily Grugan ’06 is the new Head Coach for Varsity Basketball. Jessica Jamison ’09 is the new Head Varsity Swimming Coach.

Head Varsity Basketball, Emily Grugan ’06 

Emily played Basketball at Padua where she was first and second team all catholic and first and second team all state. She also participated in Tennis where she was a 2x State Champion as well as the State Leader in points in Field Hockey in 2005. Emily went on to play Basketball and Tennis for Division I St. Mary’s University where she received a 4 year athletic and academic scholarship. After receiving a BS in Mathematics from Mount St. Mary’s, Emily went on to graduate from Widener University School of Law where she is now a trained attorney. Emily has been a part of the basketball coaching Staff at Padua Academy as a Head Junior Varsity and Assistant Varsity since 2009. Emily is also the Head Varsity Tennis coach and has been a part of the Field Hockey Coaching staff in the past.

Head Varsity Swimming Coach, Jessica Jamison ’09

Jessica was a four year varsity letter recipient in Field Hockey and Swimming at Padua. While at Padua she was also a member of the Blue Gold Committee, a volunteer for Special Olympics, and a Winner in the National History Day Competition. Jessica graduated Cum Laude from York College of Pennsylvania where she earned a BS in Recreation and Leisure Administration with Minors in Sociology and Applied Youth Development. Jessica went on to WIlmington University and graduated on the Dean’s List with a MA in Elementary Studies with a emphasis in Physical Education and Health Studies. Jessica works as a Math Coach at St. Georges Technical HS and is the Assistant Varsity Field Hockey Coach at Hodgson Vo Tech. Jessica also participated in an internship shadowing an Athletic Director for a year to learn more about the administrative aspects of High school Athletics.

“We are very excited to have Emily and Jessica join the Padua Coaching staff as Head Varsity Coaches,” said Director of Athletics and Padua alumna Lindsay LoPilato-Brown ’03. “We are so lucky to have students graduate from Padua, go on to do great things in their career, and want to come back and be a part of the school in coaching. It really is a testament to what the Padua Sisterhood is all about. They are great role models for our young ladies and I know they both will do great things in their sports.”
