Padua Academy #2 in the Nation!

Padua Academy received exciting news on June 21st bringing their 2016 soccer campaign to an unprecedented peak. After winning their fifth straight state championship, the Pandas were elevated to the #2 position in the final national rankings.

The USA Today/National Soccer Coaches Association of America Super 25 Expert Rankings were released today and the Padua Academy girls soccer team was recognized with their highest national listing in program history. This accomplishment is a further reward for their untarnished record in both in-state and out-of-state competition (18-0-0).

Padua was ranked just behind Tulsa Union High School (OK) which boasted a near identical 19-0-0 record. Sporting a 41 game winning streak, defeating all Delaware opponents and three of the top-ranked teams in Virginia, and surrendering only two goals all season, Padua was able to claim this elite status. Padua’s national ranking matches the highest final position of any other Delaware High School team (tying its brother school Salesianum, which obtained this feat in 2013).

This recognition is a fitting end to an historic season. We congratulate all of our players, coaches, and managers past and present for their combined dedication, which has culminated in placing the Padua soccer program and the school in the national spotlight.
