Lauren DiSabatino Recognized as Certified Athletic Administrator

IMG_5041The National Interscholastic Association of Athletic Administrators (NIAAA) has announced that Lauren DiSabatino, Assistant Athletic Director at Padua Academy, has been recognized as a Certified Athletic Administrator.

To earn this distinction, Ms. DiSabatino has demonstrated exemplary knowledge, contributions and on-going professional development in the field of interscholastic athletic administration. The voluntary certification process included a thorough evaluation of the candidate’s educational background, experience, NIAAA Leadership Courses and professional contributions. It culminates with a rigorous, comprehensive written examination.

Lauren DiSabatino is one of a very elite group of interscholastic athletic administrators nationwide to attain this level of professionalism.

Ms. DiSabatino is currently the Assistant Athletic Director (6 years) and Head Volleyball Coach at Padua Academy as well as a Health and Fitness teacher (10 years). Coach DiSabatino has been coaching volleyball at Padua Academy for thirteen seasons, and in 2012 was appointed Head Coach of the program. Under Lauren’s leadership, Padua Academy won their first Volleyball State Championship in school history in 2012 and repeated as champions in 2013.

Coach DiSabatino played collegiate volleyball at Wilmington University, winning the 2002 Region X Championship.  After leading the team to a 69-0 record, Wilmington University qualified for the NCAA Division II Tournament. Coach DiSabatino was awarded Wilmington University’s Volleyball MVP Award in 2005.  A two-time First Team All-State player for St. Elizabeth’s High School, Lauren was honored with being selected Gatorade Player of the Year in her senior season (2001).  She was also named the 2013-14 DIVCA Coach of the Year. Lauren is currently the Vice President of the Delaware Interscholastic Volleyball Coaches Association (DIVCA) (3 years).

We are proud of Lauren’s professional accomplishments and glad she is a Padua Academy faculty member and coach.
